The Art
Paloma creates. Her creation's take form in many ways, involving the many senses: sight, smell, touch, sound, and even involving the extra sensory vision of the third eye. From traditional paintings to less traditional painted jeans. From traditional jewelry to less traditional perfume jewelry. She also designs spaces both welcoming and warm as well as mystical and timeless. Her paintings are simple expressions of reflections of her soul. She has several collections representing various aspects of her inner reflections, visions singing out to her in moments of inspiration. She also began experimenting with multiple senses. She has often developed spaces with scents to accompany the visual art. Then, not satisfied with the tradition of viewer coming to her art, she began experimenting with ways to take her art to the viewer. The result is a combination of wearable art in the form of painted clothing and perfume jewelry. It is through this medium that she not only connects with the people exposed to her art, but she also forms a bond with the wearer of the art. A bond she calls the la Sororidad de la Paloma.
The Sisterhood of the Dove
The Sisterhood of the Dove is a collection of paintings that represent the connection the artist feels with all women. They embody the various faces of womenkind at peace with herself. Paloma will only paint these during moments of true serentity, so the energy put into the Sisterhood painting is one of positive self assurance. This positive energy is apparent in the subtle smiles and radiant eyes of each painting, as well as el lunar cerca de la boca (the small beauty mark), a connection shared with the artist herself. Paloma enhances the energy with small additions, including beads, crystals, mirrors, fabric and feathers, all selected to help embody the feel of self accepantance through inner beauty.
